ABOUT LISA

I completed my Honours Degree in Social Work in 1991 and  have worked in various settings in this capacity; including at an Inpatient Substance Abuse Centre . In 2003, I returned to University to complete my Psychology Honours and  obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Counselling – specialising in Career Counselling.

On passing my board exam I registered with the Health Professionals Council Of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor. I am also registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).

More recent work experience has included lecturing at Varsity College  as well as in a Student Counselling capacity – helping establish this position nationally across all Varsity College campuses. I was employed as a School Counsellor at Westville Girls High School for seven years, providing me with enormous experience  in the counselling field .  I loved  helping young woman find  healthy ways of dealing with a numerous range of emotional and social issues; as well as assisting them in making informed subject and career choices.  I am currently working part-time  at Reddam House Ballito as a School Counsellor.

I am married with two  amazing young adult children , who are currently following new career paths for themselves.

This is the perfect time for me to grow my own business and explore new challenges  – so this Private Practice is my new baby.
